German Cockroach

Description:  Most common Cockroach species.

• Adults are pale to medium brown, 1/2 to 5/8 inches long
• Both sexes have developed wings but don't fly
• Adult males have slender tapering shape of abdomen
• Nymphs resemble adults: smaller, wingless, darker in color (nearly black)

American Cockroach

Also Known as(Waterbug)(Palmetto bug)

Description

• Largest of the common species- 1 1/2 inches long
• Reddish brown with pale brown or yellow border on pronotum
• both species have wings but Males extend beyond abdomen
• They fly only when temperatures are above 85 degrees

Oriental Cockroach

Also Known as the waterbug, black beetle or shad roach

Description:    

• Females are 1 1/4 inches long and are also wider than their male counterparts
• Males are 1 inch long
• Adults are dark brown or nearly black with a greasy sheen to them
• They have wings but are unable to fly

Characteristics :

• An egg is carried then dropped after 30 hours
• Average of 8 capsules during females lifetime
• Egg hatches 60 days under room conditions
• Usually seasonal developmental cycle
• Usually found around decaying organic matter

Description:

• Light Brown with 2 lighter transverse bands
• The bands may be irregular or broken
• Adults are quite active and will fly when disturbed
